Advance Text is a Program that lets you change text around. Simply use a search for whatever text you need and then change it around (see the tutorial section as this was VERY loose and will be explained better below.
Open up Advance Text then select Open ROM on the left side of the window.
When you've loaded the ROM select Search. Once the little window pops up type whatever you want to serch for (case and punctuation sensitive)and then press search.
BUT! If you are searching for the name of the player or your rival you type [PLAYER] or [RIVAL].The brackets (these things ) are essential when typing [PLAYER] or [RIVAL].
Once you search a result of the text sequence (all the text you scroll through in one box) will be displayed on the side. if it's not what you are searching for click resume. If you run out try typing something different. The easest way to do this is by opening up your Emulator and talking to the person/signpost you want to re-do and typing EXACTLY what you see in the first line.
Once you see the text you want to edit click "write to INI" I have NO idea what an INI is but it is needed to edit the text. Now once you have clicked "write to INI" you can create an all new section for the text to go under or you can choose an existing one. Then you Type a new name for the clip of text you will edit. The thing looks like this
Sadly the picture of the person is NOT the corresponding sprite of the person in the game. Just a random picture.
When editing text select the clip of text you want to edit and type away! On the top of the box is a line that tells you where the border to the textbox is.
As soon as you reach the end of the number on the bottom (zero characters untill repoint) you may stop editing although you CAN go over what it used to have and get more text out of it. But sometimes it won't work >.<
Save the ROM and your text is edited!
Oh, and it may SOUND complicated but it's actualy one of the easier programs to use!
